Your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number is a unique 15-digit code that identifies your device on a mobile network. You'll need it for warranty claims, insurance, reporting a lost or stolen phone, or checking a used device before you buy it. Here are the quickest ways to find yours.

  1. Dial the USSD code

Open your phone dialer and type *#06#. Your IMEI (or IMEIs, for dual-SIM phones) will appear instantly on screen — no call needed.

  1. Check your phone settings

On Android, go to Settings → About Phone → Status/IMEI information. On iPhone, go to Settings → General → About and scroll to IMEI.

  1. Look at the SIM tray or back panel

Many phones print the IMEI on the SIM tray, or on a small label under the back cover or battery.

  1. Check the original box or receipt

If you still have the retail box, the IMEI is usually printed on a barcode sticker on the side.
